Fuji Electric’s new X-Series RC-IGBT (Reverse-Conducting Insulated-Gate Bipolar Transistor) modules integrate an IGBT and a Freewheeling Diode (FWD) on a single chip.

Key Features of the X-Series RC IGBT

Integrated Design for Miniaturization

This module combines two components—an IGBT (Insulated-Gate Bipolar Transistor) and an FWD (Freewheeling Diode)—on a single chip. This integration allows for a smaller package footprint by reducing the chip count, which also reduces equipment costs and assembly complexity.

Higher Power Ratings

The X-Series RC-IGBT is available in 1200V and 1700V modules with current ratings increased to 1000A for 1200V and 800A for 1700V configurations. This higher power output can replace previous, bulkier modules, enabling smaller designs without sacrificing performance.
